Nigerian artist Wizkid appears on two new Top 10 records in the inaugural Official R&B UK Chart, published Monday by the Official Charts Company.
“Alive” by Jorja Smith featuring Wizkid enters at No. 4. “Nights In The Sun (N.I.T.S)” by Odeal featuring Wizkid enters at No. 8. Both tracks are new entries with one week on the chart.
The Official R&B UK Chart ranks current R&B singles by British artists based on combined UK sales and streams. Eligible songs must have been released in the previous 12 months. The first edition covers the week ending 11 September and went live at 9 a.m. on officialcharts.com.
Jorja Smith released “Alive” on 2 July as a single from her third studio album What Are The Odds. The track was produced by P2J. Odeal, a British-Nigerian singer, released “Nights In The Sun” with Wizkid as a featured artist.
Wizkid, whose full name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, has previously scored UK chart success, including a 15-week run at No. 1 on the Official Singles Chart with Drake’s “One Dance” in 2016. The two new entries mark his presence on the newly launched specialist R&B ranking through collaborations with UK-based artists.
The Official Charts Company compiles the weekly list in partnership with Everything RNB. The chart is designed to highlight recent British R&B releases. Full positions are available on the Official Charts website.
