British electronic trio Clean Bandit have joined forces with Chlöe and Nigerian singer-songwriter-producer Omah Lay on their new single, “Company,” marking the first taste of the group’s forthcoming studio album, due in 2027.
The release also arrives as just the second single issued through CB X, the independent label Clean Bandit established as their new creative home, signalling the beginning of a new chapter for the Grammy-winning group.
On Company, three distinct musical worlds converge. Clean Bandit’s signature blend of electronic production and classical-pop influences provides the foundation, while Chlöe brings her confident pop-R&B presence and expressive vocal runs. Omah Lay adds his unmistakable Afro-fusion style, giving the track another rhythmic and melodic dimension.
At its core, Company explores desire, loneliness, and the simple need for human connection. The song balances those themes with an energetic production that retains Clean Bandit’s characteristic rhythmic precision, while Chlöe’s ad-libs and vocal flourishes and Omah Lay’s understated delivery give the record its personality.
The collaboration reportedly grew out of a chance meeting in Los Angeles, where Clean Bandit members Grace Chatto and Jack Patterson connected with Chlöe and Omah Lay while the various artists happened to be in the city at the same time. What began as an unexpected convergence developed into a creative partnership that ultimately produced Company.
The visual treatment for the track takes a contrasting approach. While the music carries a vibrant and layered energy, the official video adopts a deliberately muted colour palette, creating a subdued visual world that allows the song’s characters and performances to remain at the centre.
For Clean Bandit, the collaboration with Omah Lay also reflects a creative relationship that has been developing over several years. That history gives Company a sense of intention beyond a one-off crossover, bringing together artists whose musical identities complement one another while remaining distinctly individual.
