Trechyson Molly vx is following up one of South Africa’s biggest Amapiano breakthroughs with a more personal statement. The DJ and producer has released Ke Nna, a seven-track EP that shifts the focus from chart success to the experiences, relationships and emotions that have shaped his journey.

The project arrives after his breakthrough single, “Botshelo Ke Eng,” reached No. 1 across five major South African chart platforms: Spotify South Africa, the Official RiSA Chart, Billboard South Africa, Shazam South Africa and the national radio chart, according to Radio Monitor. The song also spent 13 consecutive weeks at the top of the BMAT chart, cementing its connection with listeners across the country.

Meaning “It’s Me” in Setswana, Ke Nna offers a closer look at the person behind that success. Across its seven tracks, Trechyson explores the realities of life through soulful melodies, expressive vocals, and the familiar rhythmic pulse of Amapiano. The result is a project shaped by personal reflection, with themes that move between heartbreak, uncertainty, hope and perseverance.

The EP features contributions from Jinger Stone, Lah’Vee, Koketso Vocals, MaWhoo and Han-C, whose performances add different perspectives to its emotional narrative. At the centre of the release is “Bophelo Bo Jwalo,” featuring Lah’Vee, a collaborator with whom Trechyson has built an established creative relationship. The vocalist has previously appeared on several of his releases, including Impilo yo Mjita, making their latest reunion a natural fit for the project’s introspective direction.

Much of Ke Nna draws from the difficult experiences that shape everyday life. Trechyson addresses the pain of losing loved ones, personal struggles that often go unseen, the demands of daily living, and the complicated nature of love. Rather than presenting these experiences as isolated moments, he places them within a wider reflection on endurance and the strength required to keep moving forward.

That emotional honesty is closely connected to his own background. Originally from Agisanang in Sannieshof, North West, Trechyson carries his late mother’s name, Molly, as part of his stage identity. Her memory remains central to his story, adding another layer of meaning to a body of work that frequently returns to family, loss and remembrance.

Trechyson’s relationship with music began taking shape in 2014, when he started experimenting with production. Over the years, he has developed a sound informed by South African house music and contemporary Amapiano, combining melodic arrangements with storytelling drawn from real-life experiences. Earlier releases such as “Umuntu Omnyama,” “Mpogo,” “Wish Me Well” and “Ka Di Weekend” have contributed to the catalogue he has steadily built.

His 2026 breakthrough brought that work to a much wider audience. “Botshelo Ke Eng,” released alongside DJ Promatic SA and Dendofela, connected with listeners through its reflections on life’s uncertainties, grief and the determination to carry on. The subsequent “Botshelo Ke Eng 2.0,” featuring Jinger Stone and MaWhoo, gave the record another dimension and extended its reach.

With Ke Nna, Trechyson chooses to build on that momentum by revealing more of the experiences behind his music. It is a project that places the artist’s identity at the centre, allowing the emotions that inform his songwriting to sit alongside the infectious production of Amapiano.

Having made a major impression with a song that questioned the meaning of life, Trechyson now offers a more personal response through Ke Nna — a portrait of the experiences, losses and lessons that have made him who he is.
