Nigerian Afrobeats singer-songwriter Bluewhale is embracing love, gratitude, and fatherhood on his latest single, “Abefe.” Inspired by his wife and daughter, the romantic release captures a deeply personal moment in his life, turning the journey towards welcoming a child into a heartfelt musical tribute.

Named after his daughter, “Abefe” tells a story that developed across three significant stages: the period when Bluewhale and his wife prayed for a child, the joy of discovering they were expecting, and the excitement that came with the final trimester of pregnancy. These experiences shape the song’s emotional core, giving it a sincerity that goes beyond a conventional love song.

With its stripped-back, soothing sound, the track allows the story and emotions to take centre stage. Bluewhale blends English and Yoruba in his lyrics, expressing his appreciation for his family and the happiness his daughter has brought into his world. Lines such as “Let me show you to the world as mine” and “I love you so much” capture the tenderness behind the song, making “Abefe” an intimate expression of affection and gratitude.

For Bluewhale, the single represents more than a new addition to his catalogue. It documents a meaningful chapter in his personal life, reflecting the excitement of becoming a father and the powerful bond between family members. By drawing directly from his own experiences, he gives listeners a glimpse into the emotions that have shaped him beyond music.

Born Edunjobi Adepoju Olanrewaju, Bluewhale is a Nigerian Afrobeats artist from Abeokuta, Ogun State. He proudly represents his Egba Yoruba heritage and began releasing music in 2023 with the single “Amapiano.” Since then, he has continued to develop his sound and establish himself as a songwriter drawn to personal storytelling, vulnerability and authentic experiences.

“Abefe” also offers a glimpse of the direction Bluewhale is exploring as he works towards an upcoming EP. The project is expected to reflect different stages of his life, revisiting his earlier lifestyle and inspirations before turning to his present experiences as a husband, father and musician.

Looking ahead, Bluewhale hopes to maintain a steady release schedule, inspire others through his music and eventually establish his own record label to support emerging talent. For now, “Abefe” stands as a celebration of the love that has helped shape his journey, bringing a warm and personal touch to his growing Afrobeats catalogue.
