Born Emmanuel Olih, PHEENIX is redefining Afro-Fusion through a fearless blend of R&B, soul, hip-hop, Afrobeats, rock, and cinematic pop. Known for his vivid lyricism and emotionally driven storytelling, he transforms personal battles into music that resonates universally. He began writing during secondary school and has since released multiple projects documenting his artistic evolution.
In recent years, PHEENIX has continued to expand his footprint, performing at festivals and live events across the UK. His work has been featured on BBC Music Introducing, with selections earning Track of the Week on BBC Radio Derby. A standout moment in his live journey came in April 2025, when he opened for Lil Kesh at TOGETHER in Derby.
Beyond recording and performing, PHEENIX remains deeply invested in community-building. He is the founder and host of LOVE YOUR SOUND, a weekly open mic night at BUNK, Derby, which has run consistently for over two years, providing a safe and supportive platform for emerging artists to express themselves.
