Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez is back with a new album, NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, a project that captures his ambition, artistic growth, and continued evolution within the Nigerian hip-hop scene.

Eight years after making his mainstream breakthrough with Bad Boy Blaq, the Chocolate City rapper arrives at this latest chapter with the confidence of an artist who understands his place in the game. Across the album, Blaqbonez explores the pressures, rewards, and complicated realities that come with chasing bigger dreams and reaching new heights.

The project opens up its world on “CA$H EVERYDAY”, the second track, where Blaqbonez delivers the striking line, “Ambition wan wound me,” capturing the relentless hunger that drives much of the album. That energy carries into the Asake-assisted opening singles, “IKEBE 3000” and “Chanel”, which bring together colourful Nigerian pop culture references and elements of his Igbo identity.

Elsewhere, Blaqbonez continues to demonstrate his willingness to experiment with different sounds and perspectives. On P.Priime-produced “CA$H OUT”, he switches between languages while expressing surprise at the pace of a relationship unfolding around him, adding another layer of personality to the album.

One of the project’s defining qualities is its connection to Nigeria’s emerging underground music community. Having consistently supported younger and unconventional voices, Blaqbonez makes room for some of the scene’s rising talents. “SAMPLE EKWE” references incantation music singer-songwriter Egertton, while Igwe Aka appears on “I LOVE THIS”. Abuja-based newcomer Monochrome also gets an opportunity to shine on “FYP”.

Beyond the playful references and experimental moments, NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME makes room for more reflective songwriting. On “LIKE 2021”, Blaqbonez looks back at disappointments and difficult experiences, considering how they have shaped the person and artist he has become. “MAZZA”, meanwhile, offers an escape from the weight of everyday realities, presenting a different emotional dimension to the project.

The album closes with “FINESSE YOU”, featuring Tml Vibez, as both artists reflect on the determination, appreciation and journey behind their success. It provides a fitting conclusion to a body of work largely concerned with ambition, personal growth and the pursuit of a better life.

With NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME, Blaqbonez continues to stretch his creative boundaries while maintaining a connection to the culture and community that helped shape him. More than a showcase of his lyrical personality, the album finds the rapper reflecting on how far he has travelled and the ambition that continues to push him forward.
