Global superstar Tyla continues her record-breaking 2024 streak with the release of the official music video for “Shake Ah,” the latest single from the deluxe edition of her debut album, TYLA+. Featuring rising South African stars Tony Duardo, EZ Maestro, and Optimist, “Shake Ah” is one of three new tracks included in the deluxe release.
Shot in the vibrant streets of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the “Shake Ah” video captures Tyla as the life of a dynamic dance party alongside friends and collaborator Optimist. This visually stunning production follows the success of her previous video for “Push 2 Start,” which has already amassed an impressive 11 million views on YouTube.
Tyla’s meteoric rise has made 2024 a career-defining year. She began the year with a historic GRAMMY win for “Best African Music Performance” and shattered records with her smash hit “Water,” which became the first solo song to spend an entire year at #1 on the Billboard US Afrobeats Songs chart. Tyla also earned eight 2024 Billboard Music Award nominations, complemented by standout performances at the MTV EMAs, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, and accolades from the BET Awards, MTV VMAs, and South African Music Awards.
As the year closes, Tyla is set to headline several highly anticipated homecoming performances in South Africa. These include a December 4 show in Johannesburg presented exclusively with COKE STUDIO™, December 5 in Cape Town, and December 7 in Pretoria. Fans can also look forward to her landmark appearance at the 2025 Coachella Music Festival, where Tyla will represent African music on a global stage.
Beyond her musical success, Tyla has expanded her influence into fashion and branding. Her collaboration with Stanley on the limited-edition Tyla Tyger Quencher cup has been a hit with fans worldwide, further cementing her status as a cultural icon.
