There is something powerful about a song that does not pretend to have all the answers. Trose Kelma’s new single “Sinners” steps into that space with honesty, humility, and a beat that pulls you in from the first seconds.

Released on 27th February 2026, “Sinners” blends hip hop and rap with subtle Afro fusion textures, creating a sound that feels grounded yet expansive. It is introspective without becoming heavy-handed. The mood is reflective, even prayerful at times, but it never drifts into preaching. Instead, it acknowledges the daily contradictions of being human. We mess up. We try again. We win sometimes. And sometimes we lean on faith to keep moving forward.

The origin story of the track is almost as compelling as the song itself. In the studio, when the engineer played the instrumental and the producer tag “zena” echoed through the speakers, Trose Kelma’s cousin and collaborator Ceasar misheard it as “sinner.” That small misunderstanding sparked the hook, which came together in under ten minutes. Sometimes the best ideas really do arrive that fast.

Lyrically, “Sinners” sits in vulnerability. It admits flaws openly while recognizing that any victories are not achieved alone. There are subtle religious references woven into the track, including prayerful undertones, but they serve the narrative rather than dominate it. The result is relatable whether you are deeply spiritual or simply navigating your own imperfections.

Trose Kelma’s journey makes this kind of storytelling feel natural. Born in South Sudan and relocating to Australia at the age of ten, he began experimenting with music around 2009 and 2010 using whatever tools he had, even an Xbox 360 headset microphone. He taught himself production through GarageBand and later FL Studio, learning from late-night YouTube tutorials, often on school nights. Over time, he built momentum with a debut tape on SoundCloud and freestyle clips shared on Facebook.

Often described by fans as a conscious rapper, Trose draws influence from artists like Kendrick Lamar, J Cole, Rick Ross, Dave, The Clipse, and Jay Z. That influence shows in the way he balances introspection with confidence. As a diaspora artist based in Perth, Western Australia, he is also focused on representing the African Australian community and shining a light on a cultural scene that many outside the country may not know exists.

A major milestone came in 2022 when Trose Kelma and Ceasar sold out their biggest show in Perth. That moment of community support still stands as a defining highlight in his career. It reflects the grassroots foundation he continues to build from.

With “Sinners,” Trose Kelma does not claim perfection. He leans into imperfection and faith, into flaws and forward motion.
