Nigerian rapper and singer Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, recently revealed a behind-the-scenes story from his early career in a short documentary that aired this week. The 18-minute film, produced by content creator Ugobaby, sheds light on Odumodublvck’s rise to fame, including a clever tactic he once used to secure a performance in Abuja.

In the documentary, Odumodublvck recounted how his set at a major event in Abuja was cut short before he could perform his main song. Recognizing the importance of the platform for him and his crew to leave a lasting impression in his hometown, the NATIVE Records signee acted quickly. He ran to the event organizer and lied, claiming that his mother was in the crowd and needed to see him perform. The organizer believed the story and allowed him back on stage to finish his set.

Odumodublvck emphasized that this moment demonstrated his dedication and willingness to do whatever it took to advance his career. The story, though humorous, highlighted his passion and commitment from the start.

Though Odumodublvck didn’t mention the name of the event organizer, it was later confirmed on social media to be Tobi Muhammed, also known as Alhaji Popping of Mainland Bloc Party. Muhammed praised the rapper’s “get-it-done” attitude, recounting the incident with admiration for Odumodublvck’s resourcefulness.

The documentary, which also focused on his successful Canadian tour, offers fans a closer look at the personal experiences that have shaped Odumodublvck’s journey. This follows his recent nomination for Best International Flow at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, further solidifying his growing presence in the global music scene
