South African Amapiano DJ and production duo TXC have hinted at an ambitious new project that could feature collaborations with Nigerian superstar Wizkid and British R&B singer Jorja Smith.
Speaking to Dotty on Apple Music 1, TXC revealed that they have a major project in the works, although they stopped short of confirming exactly what the collaborations will look like.
“There’s definitely a big project coming,” Clairise said before teasing, “We got a little bit of Wizkid, a little bit of Jorja, a little bit of… You know, we got some things coming up.”
The revelation immediately caught Dotty’s attention, with the presenter asking whether fans could expect TXC songs with Wizkid and Jorja Smith.
Rather than giving away too much, Clairise kept things deliberately mysterious, suggesting that the artists could appear on separate songs or potentially share the same record.
“It could be one song, it could be separate songs. Let’s see, let’s see,” she said.
The duo also suggested that whatever is coming could become the follow-up anthem to their current hit “Naku Penda,” their collaboration with Davido and Ch’cco that has become one of their biggest records.
TXC are not putting a specific release date on the project yet, but they confirmed that fans should expect it before the end of the year. When Dotty asked if the release would arrive during the South African summer, Clairise responded confidently that it would be out this year.
The announcement comes as TXC continue to expand their presence beyond South Africa, with the duo currently in London for a series of performances. They were scheduled to perform at Davido and Friends before returning for Piano People in the Park on August 28.
Their growing international profile has been accompanied by a distinctive approach to Amapiano that combines DJing, production and high-energy performance. With potential collaborations involving two globally recognised artists, TXC appear ready to take that sound into another major chapter.
For now, however, fans will have to wait for the duo to reveal whether Wizkid and Jorja Smith will appear on separate tracks, a single collaboration, or something even more unexpected. TXC’s message is simple: stay tuned.
