Rising Amapiano vocalist and songwriter Kr4zygee has officially entered the music scene with his debut single, “Makhelwane,” featuring Sihlewama2k. Released on August 28, 2026, via vniMusic Records, the track serves as the lead single from his forthcoming debut album, Umoyo Wase Vutha.
Hailing from Daveyton, Benoni, Kr4zygee brings a sound shaped by the energy and realities of township life while drawing from a broad range of musical influences. The soulful storytelling of Blaq Diamond played an early role in his artistic development, while the production approaches of Kabza De Small and lyrical sharpness of Nasty C helped inspire him to explore a sound that sits between Amapiano and Hip-Hop.
“Makhelwane” introduces that hybrid identity, pairing Amapiano’s deep basslines, percussive rhythms and infectious groove with a more lyrical approach. Featuring Sihlewama2k, the record carries the energy of a track made for movement while retaining the personal and community-focused perspective at the centre of Kr4zygee’s artistry.
For the emerging artist, music is also a vehicle for representation and encouragement. Having grown up in Daveyton, Kr4zygee wants his work to challenge the idea that someone’s background should determine the height of their ambitions. His music draws from everyday township experiences while aiming to deliver a message of hope, confidence and possibility to listeners both in South Africa and beyond.
The making of “Makhelwane” was supported by producer and songwriter Beekay_dj, who worked closely with Kr4zygee throughout the creative process. Their collaboration helped the artist overcome challenges during production and develop the distinctive sonic direction that introduces his upcoming album.
As his first official release, “Makhelwane” represents the opening chapter of Kr4zygee’s journey as he begins building his place within the Amapiano landscape. With Umoyo Wase Vutha still to come, the single offers an early introduction to an artist determined to turn his experiences, influences and ambitions into a sound of his own.
