UK Afroswing pioneer Kojo Funds marks a decade in the music industry with the release of his new EP, HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN, a six-track project that reflects on overcoming obstacles, appreciating life’s blessings and remaining grateful for the people who have supported him throughout his journey.
The project arrives alongside the official video for “How Many,” a vibrant dancehall-inspired anthem produced by GRAMMY-winning Ghanaian producer Killbeatz. Built around an irresistible groove and Kojo’s unmistakable Afroswing style, the track celebrates good times and finding reasons to remain thankful.
The accompanying visual embraces that carefree energy, with Kojo performing poolside as the summer party gets underway before moving into a mansion setting. The lively presentation matches the song’s infectious character, positioning “How Many” as one of the EP’s standout feel-good moments.
The single has already received support from BBC Radio 1Xtra, KISS XTRA and Capital XTRA, following the momentum of the project’s lead single “Ready,” which similarly combines an addictive bassline with Kojo’s signature Afroswing sound.
Across HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN, Kojo explores gratitude, relationships, ambition and perseverance through a blend of R&B, Afrobeats and Afroswing. Opening with “Long Time,” he settles into a smooth R&B bounce while reflecting on enduring relationships and the quiet sources of strength that help carry us through life.
“Problems”, also produced by Killbeatz, shifts into a brighter Afroswing groove, turning adversity into a message of resilience and faith. Meanwhile, “With You” combines silky R&B guitars with intricate Afrobeat percussion as Kojo encourages listeners to pursue their ambitions without hesitation.
The EP closes with “I Need,” a bass-heavy Afrobeat cut exploring the tension between desire and necessity. Together, the six songs create a project that feels celebratory while remaining grounded in Kojo Funds’ reflections on his journey.
Kojo Funds first emerged in 2016, quickly becoming one of the defining figures of the Afroswing movement. His breakthrough run included the street anthem “Dun Talkin’” featuring Abra Cadabra, followed by major collaborations such as “Check” with RAYE and “Finders Keepers” with Mabel. His growing profile earned multiple MOBO Award nominations, including recognition for Best Newcomer and Best Song.
His 2018 debut album Golden Boy further cemented his reputation, earning him titles including the King, Godfather and Pioneer of Afroswing. Since then, he has maintained a catalogue of multimillion-streamed records while continuing to command a substantial audience.
With more than 500 million Spotify streams and over one million monthly listeners on the platform, Kojo Funds enters his second decade with his influence firmly established. HELLO IT’S ME AGAIN serves as both a celebration of how far he has travelled and a confident statement that his Afroswing story is far from finished.
