UK-based Afrofusion artist cc has released his highly anticipated new single, “That’s Why,” marking the first release from his forthcoming project, “Reminisce.” The track is available now across all major streaming platforms and introduces listeners to the next phase of the artist’s musical journey.
Blending Afrobeats, Afropop and Afrofusion, “That’s Why” is built around confidence, individuality and the importance of staying true to who you are. The song takes inspiration from the energy of Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale’s “Like My Ting (Everybody Like My Ting)”, after Jay Suave’s producer incorporated elements of the record into the production.
Rather than recreating the original, Jay Suave uses that creative spark as the foundation for his own story. He turns the inspiration into a personal statement about his journey, his confidence and the mindset behind what he calls his “Suavay Steez.”
