Wizkid and Asake have officially etched their names deeper into Nigerian music history. Their latest collaboration, “Jogodo,” has shattered records on the Spotify Nigeria chart, claiming the title of the biggest streaming week for any song in the platform’s Nigerian history.

The electrifying Afrobeats anthem, released as the lead single from their surprise joint EP REAL (Vol. 1), wasted no time asserting its dominance. According to Spotify data shared by Wizkid’s manager, Jada P, “Jogodo” amassed unprecedented numbers within its first seven days, dethroning previous record holders and setting a new benchmark for digital music consumption in Nigeria.

Sharing the news, Jada P wrote: “Asake and Wizkid’s ‘Jogodo’ has already broken the all-time record for biggest streaming week for any song in Spotify Nigeria history!”

The historic run began immediately upon release. On its opening day alone, “Jogodo” pulled in 1.388 million streams on Spotify Nigeria — the biggest opening day ever for a collaboration on the platform and the second-highest opening day of all time, trailing only Wizkid’s own solo hit, “Kese (Dance).”

By the end of the tracking week, the song had surged past the 5-million-stream mark locally, a milestone previously considered nearly unreachable within such a short timeframe. On the global stage, “Jogodo” has already crossed 4 million cumulative streams, while simultaneously topping charts on Apple Music, Deezer, and Audiomack.

The record-breaking achievement arrives during a landmark period for Wizkid, who recently became the first African artist to surpass 10 billion total streams on Spotify across all credits. Together with Asake, one of Afrobeats’ most dominant forces of the new generation, “Jogodo” stands as a powerful statement of cultural influence, streaming power, and global momentum.

With REAL (Vol. 1) already making waves, Wizkid and Asake have not just delivered a hit — they’ve redefined what’s possible on Nigeria’s streaming charts.
