Ghanaian Afro-Soul and R&B artist Darkua joins forces with Nigerian star and Chocolate City signee TAR1Q for ‘Know You’, an emotionally charged collaboration that finds two distinct voices meeting around a familiar question: can love survive another chance?
Produced by Ghanaian producer Insvne Auggie, the record takes a relaxed approach to its sound. Its mid-tempo groove gives the song a gentle warmth, leaving plenty of room for Darkua and TAR1Q to carry the emotion through their performances. There is no rush in the production, allowing the story to unfold naturally.
Darkua sets the tone from the beginning with the mindset of someone willing to try again. She has chosen not to completely close herself off from love, but that decision comes with a certain vulnerability. If she is going to open that door again, she needs to know that the person she loves is ready to meet her there.

The collaboration traces back to the CNM x Rainlabs Songwriting Camp, held in March 2026. The initiative brought artists together in an intentional creative environment while seeking to bridge the gap between anglophone and francophone music communities across West Africa.
For Darkua, the camp also offered the opportunity to finally work with TAR1Q, an artist she had wanted to collaborate with for some time. The two recorded ‘Know You’ on the final day of the camp, turning a long-held creative interest into a finished song.
Darkua recalls the session as one of the strongest moments of the camp, and that connection is reflected in the finished record. There is a sense of ease between both artists, with the production giving them enough space to complement rather than compete with each other.
‘Know You’ ultimately finds its strength in its emotional honesty. It does not treat giving love another chance as a simple decision. Instead, it recognises the courage involved in opening up again and the expectation that comes with asking someone not to take that trust for granted.
