Nigerian superstars Wizkid and Asake have officially released their long-awaited collaborative project, REAL, Vol. 1 — a four-track EP that captures the chemistry, cultural confidence, and sonic finesse both artists are celebrated for. Blending lush Afro-fusion production with spiritual depth and rhythmic storytelling, the project is rooted firmly in contemporary Afrobeats while pushing its edges just enough to feel fresh.
Produced by Magicsticks, Lolu, and 4Tunes, REAL, Vol. 1 carries a cohesive soundscape built on groove, ease, and intentional simplicity. First announced during a joint interview in 2025, the EP arrives after weeks of speculation and subtle social media teasers that sent fans into a frenzy.
The duo previously set the tone with the smooth, percussion-led feel-good single “Jogodo,” which received widespread acclaim from Billboard, Essence, Vibe, OkayAfrica, and more. The EP also features “Alaye,” “Iskolodo,” and the focus track “Turbulence.” The latter arrives with an accompanying music video and introduces subtle, edgy experimentation without sacrificing its dance-ready core.
While Wizkid and Asake have each dominated the charts individually, REAL, Vol. 1 marks their first full-length body of work together. The project represents a monumental collision of two eras of African music excellence — blending the smooth, soulful melodies that defined Wizkid’s Starboy era with the high-energy, street-rooted sound that has propelled Asake to global stardom. It also follows a string of chart-topping collaborations between the two, including the GRAMMY-nominated hit “MMS.”
Wizkid’s 17-year, record-breaking legacy as one of Afrobeats’ most influential global figures meets Asake’s award-winning rise of the past five years, with both artists playing pivotal roles in pushing the genre to the forefront of global charts. Longtime friends and collaborators, they continue to champion each other’s artistry while proudly representing Nigeria and the wider African continent on the world stage.
REAL, Vol. 1 stands as a defining moment in a partnership built on experience, momentum, and cultural relevance — a project that feels intentional, confident, and unmistakably Nigerian at its core.
With REAL, Vol. 1, Wizkid and Asake deliver a sleek, rhythm-driven EP that captures the power of collaboration—effortless, and culturally rich
