Wahid L4dv is stepping into a defining new phase of his artistry with his EP, Isolo Boy: Welcome 2 Hull City, released on January 29, 2026. Named in part after Isolo, the energetic Lagos neighborhood that shaped his early years, the four-track project bridges Afro-fusion, Afrobeats, and Afro Trap, delivering a sound that feels both mellow and emotionally layered.
More than just a collection of songs, Isolo Boy: Welcome 2 Hull City unfolds as a personal journal. The EP documents Wahid’s transition from the familiar rhythm of Lagos to life in Kingston upon Hull, capturing the emotional push and pull that comes with relocation. Themes of memory, adjustment, and personal growth run through the project, reflecting the contrast between where he comes from and where he now stands. Each track carries a sense of motion — both physical and internal — as Wahid navigates identity across borders.
The creation of the EP leaned heavily on instinct. Instead of rigid songwriting sessions, Wahid approached the music through freestyles, allowing emotion to guide his vocals over carefully selected beats. These spontaneous recordings later evolved into fully formed songs, maintaining their original feeling while gaining structure and clarity. The result is a cohesive, easygoing project that invites listeners into a reflective and confident headspace.
Although the EP features no guest appearances, it remains a collaborative effort behind the scenes. Recorded in Wahid’s home studio, the songs retain an intimate, unguarded quality. Beatmakers played a key role in shaping the project’s sonic direction, while experienced engineers handled mixing and mastering to bring a refined finish to the raw performances. Despite these contributions, the EP stands firmly as Wahid’s singular story.
Visuals also play an important role in bringing the project to life. A music video accompanies “2pm in Hull City,” one of the EP’s standout tracks alongside “Boucle Errything.” Filmed across various locations in Kingston upon Hull, the video offers a visual introduction to Wahid’s new environment. Rather than relying solely on performance shots, it captures the texture of the city, presenting Hull through the lens of someone learning to call it home.
Originally from Nigeria and now based in the UK, Wahid L4dv has been steadily building a unique presence within the Afro-fusion space. His sound — marked by smooth vocals, melodic phrasing, and introspective songwriting — draws from Afrobeats, R&B, Hip Hop, and alternative influences. After early feature appearances on Anf3la’s Gucci Bargain and Buckle Up, he launched his solo journey with 420 in Lasgidi in 2019, followed by Shout to Mama Mi in 2020. Since relocating to the UK and completing his master’s degree, Wahid has returned with renewed drive, releasing Pay (Gucci Love) in 2022 and co-founding Friendly Fazez Entertainment in 2023.
With Isolo Boy: Welcome 2 Hull City, Wahid L4dv continues to refine his voice and vision. The EP stands as a thoughtful reflection on movement, resilience, and life lived between cultures — a confident statement from an artist steadily carving his own path in today’s Afro-fusion landscape.
