Nigerian Afro-fusion artist Kellyyung is set to release his highly anticipated EP, Love Hate Lust, on October 25, 2025. The project is a deeply personal and rhythmic journey through the turbulent and intertwined emotions that define modern relationships, masterfully blending the vibrant tones of Afrobeats with the soulful depth of R&B and the gritty edge of trap.
Born Morrison Dale in Delta State, Kellyyung’s musical journey—from crafting playful songs in his youth to his pivotal collaboration with Peruzzi in 2019—has been fueled by passion and perseverance. This same authentic drive pulses through the core of Love Hate Lust. The EP acts as a sonic diary, chronicling the real-life push and pull of love, the blurred lines of lust, and the conflicts that shape our connections with others. Nearly a year in the making, with tracks recorded in Lagos and Port Harcourt, the project showcases Kellyyung’s significant growth, featuring sharpened vocals and introspective lyricism that remains both relatable and rhythmically infectious.
The production, helmed by a talented team including Henry Keys and Boucci Beats, creates a rich soundscape where traditional African percussion meets modern 808s and atmospheric synths. From the gritty, bass-heavy energy of “Alaye” to the dreamy vibes of “Maya,” the EP offers a dynamic listening experience. A standout collaboration with Maxi Kabiesi adds a spark of dynamic flair, ensuring the project consistently feels fresh and engaging.
At its heart, Love Hate Lust is an invitation to explore emotional duality. Kellyyung doesn’t just create music to dance to; he crafts stories that make you feel seen, whether you’re navigating heartbreak, desire, or the complicated space in between.
